Ground material is cleared and removed with minimal environmental impact safely exposing the underground utilities.

Hydro Vacuum excavation has a number of applications including but not limited to;

  • Safely exposing pipe, cables and utilities before excavation
  • Excavation of a trench, which may be difficult due to underground obstacles
  • Excavation of footing holes due to the congestion of existing underground utilities
  • Safe and effective tree remediation
  • Excavation in confined areas where access is restricted with conventional machinery
  • Removal of silt from pits, drains, culverts and conduits
  • Removal of ground water from footing excavations

Ground-Penetrating Radar | Darwin

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a geophysical method that uses radar pulses to image the subsurface. This non-destructive method uses electromagnetic radiation in the microwave band (UHF/VHF frequencies) of the radio spectrum and detects the reflected signals from subsurface structures. It is highly effective at locating sub-surface material types. Metallic objects, plastics, concrete, ceramics, asphalt composites plus many more can all be located using this method. The system is fully configurable for different soil types – enabling maximum performance. Applications include;

  • Utility Pipes and sewers
  • Power cables
  • Telecoms cables
  • Buried Tanks
  • Buried Ordnance
  • Voids

Concrete Scanning | Darwin

Concrete scanning, or concrete x-ray, allows accurate inspections of concrete structures such as floors, walls, slabs, bridges and decks for the detection of objects and features.

Prior to concrete sawing, cutting, core holing or drilling, concrete scanning can provide the location of hidden features that could cause damage to machinery, pose a danger to the operator or compromise the integrity of the structure itself.

Examples of Concrete Scanning Applications are:

  • Structural Steel (Rebar and Ligature Identification)
  • Post Tension cables (PT’S)
  • Cable ducts
  • Slab thickness
  • Concrete Assessment and Structural Investigation

Acoustic Leak Detection | Darwin

Leaks in domestic, commercial or industrial pipe work can cost tens of thousands of dollars per year. If you suspect you have a leak due to a high water bill or unexplained moisture around your premises, don’t wait for the damage to be done or the excessive bill to arrive.

Using state of the art acoustic equipment, our highly experienced technician can perform a survey of your premises to identify any underground leak before undertaking any works. Our technician has pipe line construction experience and understands the methodology in pipe line installation. This experience allows us to assist with leaks on existing pipe lines and newly installed pipe lines that will not pass a pressure test.

Jetter Rodding – Pit & Conduit Cleaning

Jetter Rodding allows for clearing of drains and blockages in pipes using a high-pressure water jetting system. Using a precision nozzle on the end of a high pressure flexible hose, the hose is inserted down the pipe to the point of the blockage. High pressure water is pumped through the hose, jetting high speed water out through the nozzle. This bores through the blockage and washes away the debris. After the blockage has been blasted through, a rear facing jet thoroughly cleans the pipe while propelling it through the pipe.

Jet Rodding can be utilised in various applications including:

  • Unblocking drains
  • Stormwater drains
  • Conduit and pipe cleaning
